Head of the Charles 2009

The Charles this year was a pretty interesting weekend for me. I spent my time from Thursday to Saturday working pretty exclusively with the Great 8 Men, Great 8 Women, Hudson Sharks, and Dutch team.

I wanted to take a different approach to covering the Charles this year though, which in the past has meant taking lots of racing photographs. It’s no secret that I much prefer taking behind the scenes photos over racing photographs. This year though, I decided to focus on doing behind the scenes video interviews. Working in video is a new medium for me, but it’s definitely growing on me. I’m still trying to wrap my head around how to pull it all together, but I’m pretty excited, and in November you can expect to see a lot more ‘mini-video documentaries’ or video interviews on SHIVSPIX.

This lengthy introduction is actually just to explain why it took me so long to get the Charles photographs online. If it seemed like I disappeared from SHIVSPIX for a while, it’s only because I lost myself in pulling together these upcoming videos.
