No other team wears their heart on their sleeve quite like the Italian team does.
Growing up in Switzerland, it was always the Italians that I envied. Openly I frowned on them for always being loud and starting a party no matter where they were, but secretly I actually just wished they would ask me to join them.
This year at the World Championships was no exception.
I had the chance to photograph some of these fun-loving guys at the beginning and end of the World Championships. And while openly I kept a quiet profile, they did after all beat our US lightweight eight, I couldn’t help but smile when I heard them belting out the Italian national anthem while standing on the podium.
So, now that it has been almost a month since the World Championships and the dust has settled a bit, I would just like to take a moment to say, Congratulations ITA LM8+!
